How to Play Thundercade
Quick start
Choose one or two players with SELECT or Up/Down, then press START or A. Steer constantly with the D-pad and tap B to fire; the basic gun is weak, so destroy scenery and enemies to uncover sidecars. Approach a sidecar from the opposite side of the bike where you want it attached, and try to build weapons on both flanks. Press A only when a dense formation, boss or emergency justifies spending one of the limited bombing raids. Bonus stages can supply missiles and extra riders, and missiles are released together with the normal B attack. In two-player mode, spread out enough to cover the road but avoid competing for every upgrade when one bike urgently needs firepower.
Controls
D-pad: move the combat motorcycle in four directions. B: fire the motorcycle gun or attached sidecar cannons; collected missiles also launch with the regular attack. A: call a limited B-7 aerial bombing raid. SELECT on the title screen: choose one or two simultaneous players; Up/Down can also change the choice. START or A on the menu: confirm and begin. START during play: pause and resume.
Thundercade — About this game
Thundercade is a vertically scrolling NES combat shooter for one or two simultaneous players. Operation Thundercade sends motorcycle troops against AATOM, a terrorist force threatening the world from its own nuclear power plant. The route crosses city streets, forests, defended installations and a final fortress packed with tanks, helicopters, gun emplacements and destructible scenery. The basic motorcycle carries a weak machine gun, but sidecar pickups attach cannons to either flank and can build a much wider, stronger firing pattern. Limited B-7 bomber calls clear dangerous areas, while fast boss victories can open bonus sections containing extra riders, missiles and other upgrades.
