How to Play Shatterhand

Quick start

Press Start and use Area A to learn movement, crouching, jumping, and punching. Hold A longer for a higher jump, and use B punches to intercept many projectiles instead of simply avoiding them. Gather three Alpha/Beta units to assemble an option weapon. With an option active, press Down+A to hang from it and press B while hanging to throw it as an attack. After Area A, clear Areas B–F in a useful order, selecting healing or a 1-up at P pedestals when resources are low, then advance to Area G.

Controls

D-pad Left/Right: move. Down: crouch. A: jump; hold longer for more height. B: punch; repeated presses progress from jabs to a hook, and punches can break many enemy projectiles. Jump toward a fence and press Up: grab it. With an option equipped, Down+A: grab and hang from the option; release Down to rise; press B while hanging to throw the option as an attack. Start: begin or pause.

Shatterhand — About this game

Tokkyū Shirei Solbrain is a Famicom side-scrolling action game based on the Japanese television series. SolBraver begins in the fixed Area A, then tackles Areas B through F in any order before entering Area G. Punches damage enemies and can destroy many incoming projectiles, while repeated attacks advance from jabs to a stronger hook. Collecting a sequence of three Alpha and Beta units creates one of eight option weapons with different attack patterns. At P pedestals, choose between doubled attack power, health recovery, or an extra life, balancing immediate survival against greater offensive strength.
