How to Play Tokyo Xtreme Racer Advance
Quick start
At the title/main menu, select QUEST MODE. Quest begins in the Garage: open Car Shop and spend the starting $15,000 on a car, then visit Parts Shop only if you can still afford an upgrade. Return to the Garage, select Start, choose the available course and press A. Cruise until a rival appears, pull in behind that car, then press R to sound the horn and accept the challenge when the rival's name or flashing headlights appear. Your first objective is to reach the finish before the rival; keep clear of walls and commuter traffic because impacts slow you sharply. Wins provide money for new cars and performance or appearance parts, and enough defeated rivals unlock the remaining courses.
Controls
Menus: D-Pad Left/Right changes the highlighted choice, A confirms, and B returns to the previous menu. Racing: D-Pad Left/Right steers, A accelerates, B brakes and reverses, and START pauses. With automatic transmission, L changes between behind-car and bumper cameras, while R sounds the horn and challenges a nearby rival. With manual transmission, L shifts down, R shifts up, and D-Pad Up sounds the horn or challenges the rival. The GBA manual assigns no function to SELECT.
