How to Play Tom & Jerry
Quick start
Press Start, move Jerry with the D-pad, and practice tapping A for a short jump or holding it for a higher, longer leap. Press Select to cycle through collected defensive items and B to use the selected one; marbles are unlimited, so they are the safest default. Collect small cheese for end-of-stage points and large wedges to restore strength. Press Up in front of cords or wires to climb, and Up at a mouse hole to enter it. After losing every life, press Start within ten seconds to continue from the same stage with a reset score; this can be done twice in succession.
Controls
D-pad: move up, down, left, or right. Up in front of a cord or wire: grab and climb; Up at a mouse hole: enter. A: jump; tap for a small jump or hold for a higher and longer leap. While climbing, hold Up and press A to climb faster; pressing A without Up makes Jerry fall after the jump. Select: cycle through collected defensive items. B: use the selected item. Start: begin, pause, resume, or continue within ten seconds after losing all lives.

Tom & Jerry: The Ultimate Game of Cat and Mouse is a side-scrolling NES action game in which Jerry climbs through every level of a house to rescue his nephew Tuffy from a trunk in the attic. Marbles provide unlimited basic defense, while bubble gum, a hammer, meat cleaver, invisible ink, cup of water, drill, and mothball have different effects on household hazards. Small cheese awards bonus points at the end of a stage, and large wedges restore Jerry’s strength. Climb cords and wires, enter hidden mouse holes to find bonus stages or exits, and survive Tom’s appearances on the way to the final attic confrontation.
