How to Play Tonka: On The Job
Quick start
Press START and choose New Game from the main menu; Continue is for entering a password earned after a completed job. Begin with On the Job Training and select its opening job, Your First Day. Each job starts at the Tonka Garage: deploy the available vehicle, follow the on-screen work order and use that truck's action to carry out the assigned construction task. Watch the fuel gauge while you work—finishing with less fuel earns more of the one-to-three-star rating needed to unlock later areas. SELECT opens the vehicle-selection menu, so change to the right machine instead of making unnecessary trips; L and R quickly cycle through vehicles already deployed in the level. Freeplay has four areas but must be unlocked first.
Controls
The D-Pad steers the current vehicle and changes menu selections. A performs the selected vehicle's special action, such as loading, dumping, digging or operating its equipment. B sounds the horn. START pauses or resumes play. SELECT opens the vehicle-selection menu. L and R switch between vehicles that have already been deployed in the current level. In menus, use the D-Pad to highlight an option and A to select it.
