How to Play Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam
Quick start
Press START at the title screen. For a fresh game, create your skater, complete the Training section, then enter World Challenge and choose Hills of San Francisco. Start its Championship event: race four other skaters to the finish and place in the top three for a medal; first place unlocks Joe's short board, while a top-three finish opens the next locations. Hold B to crouch and hold Up on downhill stretches for speed. Avoid unnecessary kickers and rails in the race, but grinding the tram cables can shorten the route. Tricks refill boost, so land a simple move before using grounded R for a burst.
Controls
Menus: D-Pad highlights choices, A confirms, B goes back, and START begins or pauses. During a run, the D-Pad steers; hold B to crouch for speed and release B to ollie. Press A beside a rail or ledge to grind. In the air, combine a D-Pad direction with L for a flip trick or with R for a grab trick; the direction changes the move. On the ground, R spends available boost. START pauses the run and lets you review remaining objectives. The confirmed grind branches are A for 50-50, L for Nosegrind, R for Nose Bluntslide, then L,L for Smith, R,R for Crooked, R,L for Bluntslide, or L,R for 5-0 while already grinding.
