How to Play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2
Quick start
Choose Free Skate on the rotating main menu, then a skater, board and course. Use A to select and B to return. Practice an ollie and a simple grind before entering Career Mode. Look for the S-K-A-T-E letters and accessible goals, then write down the password shown when you quit.
Controls
D-pad: navigate the course and menus. A: ollie; press again in the air for a 180-degree rotation, or combine directions with A for air tricks. B: brake; combine directions with B for grinds before landing on an edge. At a half-pipe lip on vert courses, Up performs a handplant and Down an axle stall. Menus use A to confirm and B to return.

The second GBC outing shifts the focus to goals, cash and trick combinations. Career sessions ask you to find items and complete tasks as well as score points, with earnings opening courses and improving your choice of boards. Airborne moves, grinds and lip tricks offer different ways through the street and vert layouts. Repeated moves lose value, so plan varied combinations and land them safely. Each skater progresses separately, and the password shown when you quit preserves the skater, board, money and completed goals.
