Control Pad moves and aims after backswing; A safe shot, B topspin, X slice, Y lob. L drop and R risk shots use the meter: release near its middle. START pauses.
Top Spin 2 — About this game
Build a tennis rally around position, shot type and preparation. Begin with Play Now and an Exhibition singles match, using a safe return until you can meet the ball early. The Control Pad moves the player, then aims the shot after the backswing starts, so choose a direction with enough room inside the court. Topspin gives a higher bounce, slice stays low and a lob creates time or pushes a net player back. Risk and drop shots use a timing meter; learn ordinary returns before attempting them. Career adds a created player, tournaments and training mini-games that award attribute stars. Move between training and competition as the world ranking opens more map activities.
