Controls
Move with the Control Pad and use the displayed shot-button choices; aim after preparing the return, and follow the shoulder-button timing prompt when attempting a special shot. START opens the pause controls.
Top Spin 3 — About this game
Play tennis with direct button shots and a career built from tournaments and training. Begin an Exhibition match and focus on reaching the ball early, selecting a return and recovering toward a useful court position. A safe rally is a better starting exercise than repeatedly attempting a shoulder-button special, whose timing adds another demand. Opponents’ different attributes change how you approach the next shot. Career lets you create a player, choose tournaments and improve attributes through mini-games, including aimed returns that knock down barrels. Use those tasks to practise placement, then bring the result back to a match. Keep this DS version’s button-based rhythm separate from a stylus-swing or motion-control tennis scheme.
