How to Play Topple Zip
Quick start
Press START on the title and create a new record with ``Name Tour''. While playing, use the cross button to move the aircraft, press A to shoot, and press B to lower the altitude. In the early stages, scrolling will be slower if you are positioned towards the back of the screen, making it easier to aim at shops and warps. Press and hold B to enter the shop marked P at ground altitude, and replenish your fuel if you have enough points. The first big goal is to earn up to 10,000 points in scenes such as scene 1, try warp to reach scene 5, and pay 10,000 points in the cave near the center to rescue your fellow aircraft. You can save from START in the shop.
Controls
Cross button: Move your aircraft. A: Shot/menu decision. If the aircraft falls due to running out of fuel, you may be able to recover by pressing A repeatedly. B: Altitude change. Press briefly to descend to medium altitude, press and hold to descend to ground altitude. START: Pause during the game, open save confirmation in the shop. SELECT: Switch selection items such as name registration (normally not used during flight).
Topple Zip — About this game
``Topple Zip'' is a bird's-eye-view exploration shooting game released by Beautech for the Famicom Disk System. Your aircraft flies over the sky and not only shoots at enemies, but also rams them to make capsules appear and advance while strengthening your attacks. All eight scenes are interconnected by warps, but the destination of each entrance changes each time you re-enter the scene. A major feature of the game is that you can temporarily descend to the ground by pressing B briefly, or to the ground level by holding it down, and use this altitude difference to enter warp doors, caves, and shops. Fuel is essentially durability, which decreases when you are hit by bullets or collide with obstacles, and can be replenished by paying points. Rather than simply going to the deepest part, the conditions for clearing the game are to save your friends, collect hearts, keys, etc. in a set order, and find the correct entrance for the final scene.
