How to Play Town & Country Surf Designs: Wood & Water Rage

Quick start

Press START to open the mode screen. Use SELECT to choose Street Skate Session, Big Wave Encounter or the combined Wood and Water Rage option, with one or two players, then press START. Choose your character with A or B. Learn skating first: B pushes for speed, left slows down and right speeds up. A jumps the rider without the board; hold left and press A when you need to jump with the skateboard, such as over a road gap. Watch both the clock and life symbols. For surfing, use the directional pad to steer and A/B to adjust forward/backward balance. Stay on the wave, avoid hazards and reach the beach; do not treat the surfing buttons as skateboarding jump and kick. Press START to pause.

Controls

Menus: SELECT chooses the game/mode; START begins; A or B selects a character. Street skating: up moves toward the upper-left part of the street, down toward the lower-right; left slows down, right speeds up; B kicks to gain speed; A jumps while the board rolls underneath; left+A jumps with the skateboard. Surfing: the directional pad steers; hold A to shift balance forward or B to shift it backward. START pauses during play. Surfing and skateboarding do not share a universal A-jump/B-accelerate scheme.

Town & Country Surf Designs: Wood & Water Rage — About this game

Town & Country Surf Designs: Wood & Water Rage offers two board sports and a combined mode that alternates between them. Street Skate Session sends Joe Cool or Tiki Man along a scrolling course, where reaching the finish before time expires is as important as avoiding hazards. A normal jump leaves the skateboard rolling below the rider, while holding left with the jump brings the board along, creating different ways to clear barriers or land on objects. Coins, ramps and rail slides contribute to the score, and maintaining enough speed can restore life symbols. Big Wave Encounter changes the challenge to balance and survival: Thrilla Gorilla or Kool Kat must ride toward the beach while avoiding fish, birds and pier supports. Here A and B shift weight forward or backward instead of providing the skateboarding actions. Turns, bananas and time spent riding the pipeline offer scoring opportunities. Both sports begin with four life symbols, but the street event also ends if the timer runs out. The two-player option uses alternating turns rather than simultaneous co-op.
