How to Play Trauma Center: Under the Knife
Quick start
Choose New Game and follow the first Standard Procedure briefing with nurse Mary. Select sutures and draw a zigzag over each indicated cut. Switch to forceps, pull each glass fragment back along its entry path and drop it in the tray. Follow Mary’s prompts for gel, the incision and the final closure rather than rushing ahead.
Controls
Tap a tool icon to select it, then use its required touch gesture: zigzag for sutures, drag with forceps, trace the guide with the scalpel and rub gel over the indicated area. Surgical actions use the stylus; START pauses an operation. Watch the upper-screen instructions and vitals, and change tools by tapping their icons.

Trauma Center combines a hospital story with fast, precise operations on the DS Touch Screen. As Derek Stiles, you switch between tools to stitch cuts, remove fragments, make incisions and treat increasingly complicated cases. Each instrument needs a distinct gesture, while the time limit, remaining vitals and penalties for mistakes create constant pressure. The early cases teach the tools step by step before later operations demand quick decisions and careful sequencing.
