How to Play USA Today - Puzzle Craze
Quick start
Pick a puzzle type and an easy first board. Read one clue or inspect the fixed Hidato numbers, enter a certain answer and check how it constrains neighboring spaces.
Controls
Use the stylus to select clues, cells and answer-entry tools. Follow each type's letter or number input instructions; check the selected cell before entering and use the displayed correction tools to revise.

Choose among Quick-Cross, Word Roundup, Up and Down Words and Hidato. Each needs a different kind of reasoning: solve short crossword clues, connect the words of phrases, find words from their clues or build an unbroken sequence of neighboring numbers. Start with one puzzle type and read its rules before entering an answer with the stylus. Check crossings or the next number before filling uncertain spaces. Changing type is useful when you want a different challenge rather than another board using the same rule.
