How to Play Valis: The Fantasm Soldier
Quick start
In the early stages starting in the real world, practice moving left and right, jumping (A), and sword attack (B). At the door of a building, press the top button and look inside to find tools and dialogue. Try moving up and down in places where paths seem to connect, and remember the entrances you passed through. After taking the map and auxiliary weapons, press START to open the inventory screen and check the equipment and tools you will use. Press START again to return to exploration.
Controls
D-pad left and right: Move. At the point where the passage connects, go up and down to go to another scene, and at the top examine the building and open entrance. A: Jump. The longer you press, the higher you jump. B: Attack with a sword, use another weapon selected on the inventory screen. START: Open the inventory/equipment screen to stop progress, press again to return. SELECT is not used in the original version.
Valis: The Fantasm Soldier — About this game
The Famicom version of ``Phantom Warrior Valis'' is an action game in which high school girl Yuko Aso picks up a sword, recovers the Phantasm Jewelry, and confronts Logres. In addition to moving sideways, a large part of the exploration is looking for roads and buildings above and below that connect scenes, and deciphering intricate terrain. Deal with enemies with sword attacks and jumps, and search doors to collect maps and auxiliary weapons. Some of the tools you obtain require equipment or use, so it is important to check what you have in the menu. Maps are useful for checking your current location and route, but they do not show you the location of your tools or your destination. You can enjoy Valis, a maze-searching game where you memorize detours and entrances and organize the next place to investigate.
