How to Play Vs. Excitebike

Quick start

Select the mode using SELECT or the cross button on the title, and confirm with START. If it's your first time, choose the ORIGINAL EXCITE BEGINNER and start from qualifying. Normally accelerate with A, and use B turbo only before going on a straight line or on a hill. If the TEMP meter rises too high, you will not be able to move, so please cool down by passing through the cool zone or separating A and B. When jumping, raise the front wheel with the left hand and lower it with the right hand, aligning the body angle with the slope on which you will land. When you fall, quickly press A or B repeatedly to recover.

Controls

Cross button up and down: Change the running line up and down. Left: Raise the front wheel while running or jumping. Right: lowering the front wheel during a jump. A: Normal acceleration while pressed, brake when released. B: Fast turbo acceleration (overheats if used too much). When you fall, quickly press A or B repeatedly to recover. SELECT: Select an item on the title or each selection screen. START: Start selected mode, pause/resume during race. When editing a course, use the cross to move the cursor and obstacles, A to decide and place, and B to cancel or return to the edited item.

Vs. Excitebike — About this game

``VS. In the single-player ORIGINAL EXCITE, players pass the qualifying rounds in the challenge races at each track, and aim for a top spot in the finals that follow. In VS. EXCITE, two people can compete on the same screen, and compete to win or lose while managing collisions, falls, and engine overheating due to turbo use. Furthermore, you can create your own course by placing obstacles in TRACK EDIT, test driving it, and saving it to disk. The key to shortening your time is adjusting the angle of your car while jumping and aligning your tires with the landing surface.
