How to Play Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command
Quick start
Start the single-player campaign and read the first mission objective. Check the upper map, then select a marine on the lower screen. Make a short move towards cover, leaving action points for a useful shot. Check the firing line and command mode before attacking, then review the squad's positions before ending the turn.
Controls
Tap a marine on the touch screen to select it, then use the displayed movement or firing order to choose a destination or target. Check the current command and action-point cost before confirming; issued orders cannot be undone. Touch interface controls to navigate the battle, and use the upper map for position checks. D-pad/button control is also supported through the on-screen prompts.
Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command — About this game
A Space Marine squad faces Chaos forces in a campaign built around small tactical engagements. Each turn asks how far to move, who can take a useful shot and how much protection will remain when the enemy acts. Action points tie those decisions together, making an unnecessary move costly when a weapon is needed. The three-dimensional battlefields have destructible scenery, so a wall that offers cover now can disappear under heavy fire. Lines of fire matter for friendly troops as well as enemies. On DS, the upper screen provides the overview map, while the touch screen holds the battlefield and lets you select marines and give orders directly. A deliberate opening helps: inspect the situation, move one marine at a time and check whether the intended action is movement or shooting before committing it.
