How to Play Wario Land II
Quick start
Choose a new game, then press A to wake Wario in the opening castle stage. Follow the rooms in search of the ringing alarm clock, jumping with A and breaking suitable blocks with B. Destroy the clock to finish this first objective; collect coins along the way for the treasure challenges.
Controls
D-pad: move, crouch and enter doors with Up. A: jump. B: shoulder dash; use it to break suitable blocks and attack enemies. Down on a slope: roll. Down in midair: ground pound. START: pause. Transformations change which actions Wario can perform.
Wario Land II — About this game
Wario Land II on Game Boy Color follows Wario as he pursues pirates who stole his treasure. Instead of a conventional health bar, enemy hits often cost coins or transform his body. Those unusual forms help solve puzzles, while hidden exits lead to branching routes and different endings.
The color edition retains the exploration and treasure hunting of the earlier game with colored characters and backgrounds. Charging through walls reveals coins and passages, and some obstacles require allowing an enemy to change Wario's form. Finding the route forward means observing the environment as well as defeating enemies.
