How to Play Wario: Master of Disguise

Quick start

Begin Episode 1 aboard the S.S. Caviar. Follow the tutorial after Wario takes Goodstyle, draw the thief disguise and practise jumping and tackling. Move right into the ship, climb the stairs and tap the first green chest. Complete its touch puzzle to get the Cosmic Guise Gem, then follow the new disguise lesson. In the next room, use the laser on the glowing blue switch and change back to the thief to jump over the crates.

Controls

Move left/right with D-pad or Y/A; jump with Up or X and crouch with Down or B. Draw the learned disguise symbol on Wario: a check mark for the thief, a circle around his head for Cosmic Wario. Tap the screen to tackle as the thief or shoot a laser in Cosmic form. Tap the bubbles by doors, chests and hat save switches to interact. START pauses. Other symbols and actions require the matching gems; microphone flight belongs to the later Wicked disguise.

Wario: Master of Disguise — About this game

Wario: Master of Disguise sends its treasure-hungry hero into a television show after he steals the magical wand Goodstyle. Movement uses the buttons, while the stylus changes costumes and performs their actions. A thief's tackle and a space suit's laser solve different problems, and later disguises add ways to reveal secrets or cross obstacles. New forms and stronger abilities come from gems found during the episodes, so exploring rooms matters as much as defeating enemies. Treasure chests have short touch puzzles to complete before taking their contents. Maps, save switches and the need to revisit areas give each episode a slower, more exploratory rhythm than a straight race to the exit.
