How to Play Wheel of Fortune Family Edition

Quick start

Press START, set the number of human and computer contestants, and enter names with the on-screen cursor. During a normal round, choose SPIN and press A, then select an unused consonant. If it appears several times, the wheel value is paid for each copy. Buy a vowel only when the revealed consonants still leave several plausible words, because it costs $250 regardless of how often it appears. Choose SOLVE as soon as the category and letter pattern give you a confident answer; use the backspace arrow to fix typing before selecting END. In the speed-up round, focus on common letters because every turn quickly passes to the next contestant.

Controls

D-pad: move the on-screen cursor among menu choices, letters, answer positions, and prizes. A or B: confirm the highlighted choice. START: start the game. SELECT: not used. When SPIN is selected and the wheel appears, press A to spin. While entering a solution, select letters with the cursor, use the arrow beside END to backspace, and select END to submit the completed answer.

Wheel of Fortune Family Edition — About this game

Wheel of Fortune: Family Edition adapts the television word game for up to three contestants with a new set of broadly family-oriented puzzles. In the first two rounds, spin the wheel, choose a consonant, and earn the landed value for every matching letter; after a correct choice you may spin again, spend $250 on a vowel, or attempt to solve. Bankrupt removes only the current round’s money, Miss a Turn passes control, and a Free Spin can rescue a later lost turn. Round three is a speed-up round: the wheel establishes one value for consonants, vowels are free but earn nothing, and each letter choice is followed by a chance to solve. The highest total advances to the bonus round, chooses a prize, selects five consonants and one vowel, and then races the timer to enter the final answer.
