How to Play Wheel of Fortune Junior Edition
Quick start
Press START when prompted. Choose one, two or three players with left/right and confirm with A or B. For one or two human players, decide whether to include computer opponents and select their skill level if used. Enter each name by scrolling left/right, confirming letters with either A or B and choosing END. On your turn, select SPIN and confirm, then press A or B again to operate the wheel; the moving bar determines spin strength. After a money result, choose a consonant, not a vowel. You need $250 in the current round to buy a vowel. Select SOLVE only when you can fill every missing letter before time expires, and finish with END. Use the on-screen left-arrow correction symbol to erase an entry.
Controls
Left/right on the D-pad: move through choices, letters, the correction arrow and END. A or B: confirm the highlighted choice or letter; either button also starts a wheel spin after selecting SPIN. START: start the game. SELECT: unused. To correct solution text, highlight the left-arrow symbol and confirm with A or B; choose END to submit. On the original NES, players 1 and 3 share controller 1, while player 2 uses controller 2. No keyboard typing, separate cancel button or START pause function is assumed.
Wheel of Fortune Junior Edition — About this game
Wheel of Fortune: Junior Edition adapts the word-guessing show for children and teenagers, with more than 1,000 puzzles and a selection of dream prizes. It keeps the strategy of deciding whether to spin, spend round winnings on a vowel or attempt a full solution. Correct consonants earn money according to the wheel and their occurrences in the answer, while a wrong letter passes play on. Bankrupt removes only the current round’s winnings, not the totals already carried over from earlier rounds. The first two rounds use the regular format; the third is a speed-up round with one automatic spin establishing the consonant value. The player with the highest accumulated total advances to the fourth, prize round, choosing five consonants and one vowel before trying to solve the final puzzle against the clock. One to three people can take turns, and smaller groups can opt for computer opponents with selectable skill levels. All prizes and money belong to the game, and the Junior label does not remove the need to spell solutions correctly.
