How to Play Wolverine
Quick start
Move carefully through the opening factory and learn the reach of the standing and crouching punches before spending health on claws. Press SELECT to extend them for tougher enemies, then retract them once the danger passes; each claw swing removes part of a strength bar, and the blades cannot be used when strength falls into the red. Use B for deliberate jumps between pipes and platforms, and avoid remaining in contact with enemies or hazards because energy can disappear rapidly. Defeating enemies adds two bars to the berserker meter, so a nearly full meter can be saved for a crowded section. Search each stage for food, extra lives, continues, and appearances by Havok, Jubilee, or Psylocke before heading to the exit.
Controls
D-pad Left/Right: move Wolverine. Down: crouch. A: punch with claws retracted or slash with claws extended; attacks can also be made while crouching. B: jump. SELECT: extend or retract the adamantium claws. START: pause. Extended claws deal greater damage but consume strength with each swing and become unavailable when the strength meter is in the red.
Wolverine — About this game
Wolverine is a single-player NES action platformer that strands Logan on a hostile island arranged by Magneto and Sabretooth. Nine missions move through factories, aerial hazards, trap rooms, water, nightmare scenery, fire, and a fortress before the final confrontations. Wolverine can run, crouch, jump, and fight bare-handed, or extend his adamantium claws for double damage at the cost of strength with every swing. Defeated enemies build a berserker meter; when it fills, Logan attacks wildly and cannot be harmed until the meter empties. Havok, Jubilee, and Psylocke appear as allies and provide powers or key assistance needed to pass later obstacles. Because enemy contact can drain energy continuously and claws consume the same survival reserve, success depends on controlled attacks, careful platforming, and learning when to retract the blades.
