How to Play World Boxing
Quick start
First, let's check the face attack that can be performed using only the D-pad. The top is a straight, the bottom is an upper, and the left and right are corresponding hooks. When your opponent hits back, combine A, guard the face with the top, the body with the bottom, and sway left and right to induce a whiff. Combining with B will result in a body blow, so use it properly against opponents who have a hard face. The basic idea is not to use unreasonable repeated blows when the punch power gauge is low, and instead hit the gap after your opponent's movement with a strong blow. Don't just focus on defeating your opponent in the final stages, it's also effective to avoid getting hit and aim for a victory by decision. Collect 3 titles and prepare for the championship match.
Controls
D-pad alone: Up for straight, down for uppercut, left and right for hooks in each direction. D-pad + A: Up to protect the face, down to protect the body, and left and right to sway in each direction. D-pad + B: Body blow (blow by combining directions). In the menu, use the cross keys to select an item and press START to start the game.
World Boxing — About this game
``World Boxing'' is a boxing game for the Famicom with a unique screen layout that divides the two people in the ring into upper and lower halves, showing each person from the front. The main character competes in a series of matches with the goal of facing world champion Keith Allen, who was once his best friend and has a relationship with his lover. Your opponent will change their attack patterns depending on the round and the battle situation, so it is important not only to hit repeatedly, but also to consider whether to protect the face or the body, and which punch to return after a sway misses the hook. If you win three titles in multiple weight classes and tournaments, you will advance to the championship match, and the outcome will change depending on your victory or loss. This is a work where you can think about how to proceed in a match, including not only the KO, but also the decision, while looking at the gauge that shows punching power and your remaining health.
