How to Play Al Unser Jr.'s Turbo Racing
Quick start
Start with practice to learn the first circuit and remember that SELECT retires from practice or qualifying rather than pausing. Hold A to accelerate, use B before bends, and shift up with Up as speed rises; Down shifts back to a lower gear. Watch the T= tire bar on the left of the dashboard. When it falls, cornering speed must be reduced or the car will spin, so enter the pits before grip becomes unmanageable. During service, tap A rapidly to finish the stop sooner. Qualify for a useful grid position, then prioritize consistent points over risky passes: each level requires first place or a tie in the standings, and later levels repeat earlier tracks while adding new ones.
Controls
Left/Right: steer. Up: shift up one gear. Down: shift down one gear. A: accelerate; press rapidly during a pit stop to speed up service. B: brake. Hold A+B: maintain the current speed. START: pause. SELECT: quit during practice or qualifying. Menus use the D-pad to choose and A to confirm.
Al Unser Jr.'s Turbo Racing — About this game
World Grand Prix: Pole to Finish is a cockpit-view Formula racing game built around qualifying, tire management, and a long championship ladder. Each level adds more circuits from a worldwide set of sixteen, and the campaign eventually demands 82 race finishes across nine levels. Four different cars are assigned as progress continues, changing the handling and transmission demands. Before each race, practice and qualifying help reveal braking points and decide the starting grid; in the race itself, tire wear gradually reduces cornering grip, so staying out too long can cause spins and force slower turns. A pit stop restores fresh tires, and rapidly pressing A shortens the service time. The objective in every level is to score at least as many championship points as the leading rival, then carry a password forward to the next, longer schedule.
