WWF King of the Ring — About this game
WWF King of the Ring brings ten WWF wrestlers to the NES, alongside a custom wrestler whose speed, strength, and stamina you can adjust. Attacks depend on the situation: striking a standing opponent, grappling face-to-face, running, and attacking someone on the mat each give the buttons different jobs. Reduce your opponent's energy before trying to pin both shoulders for the referee's three-count. One-on-One and Tag Team offer direct matchups, while Tournament sends you against nine challengers for the championship. The separate King of the Ring competition uses an eight-man knockout bracket, so surviving the quarter-final, semi-final, and final earns the crown. Learn the timing on Easy before taking on a tougher field.
