How to Play X-Men: Mutant Academy
Quick start
Choose Training first. Highlight a fighter with the D-pad, press A to select and START to confirm, then choose the opponent the same way and press START again. Press SELECT during training to view move tips, cycle them with A or B and press SELECT to return. Practise guarding by holding away from the opponent before trying Story mode.
Controls
The D-pad moves, Up jumps and Down crouches. With the A/B punch-kick setting, A punches and B kicks; tap for a light attack or hold for a heavy one. Hold away from the opponent to block. Forward+A throws. When Rage is full, press A+B together. SELECT taunts in a fight; in Training it opens move tips. A selects a character, B deselects and START confirms.
X-Men: Mutant Academy — About this game
Training provides unlimited health and move tips so you can practise before entering Story mode. In Battle mode, each side picks three characters; a winning fighter carries remaining health and mutant power into the next match. Options adjust difficulty, rounds, time and damage. Clearing Story on Normal or Hard awards passwords for locked fighters. The original cartridge also supports two-player link battles with two systems and two copies.
