How to Play Xenophobe
Quick start
Use SELECT to choose one or two players and an exterminator, then START to confirm. After arriving, move through rooms and fire with B. A handles jumping and interactions: touch an object and press A to collect it. Down+A crouches; while already crouched, Down+A throws a carried bomb. Clear aliens promptly and watch your health instead of chasing every item.
Controls
Left/Right: move. B: fire the current weapon. A while standing: jump; Down+A: sit/crawl. A while seated: stand; Down+A while seated with bombs: throw one. A on an object: collect it; A when a Critter clings to you: throw it off. A at the elevator/wall control calls or activates it; inside the elevator press A, then Up/Down when an arrow appears. A near a warp wall button transfers rooms. SELECT chooses players/character before play. START starts/confirms and pauses during play.
Xenophobe — About this game
Xenophobe sends an exterminator through derelict space stations and moon bases, searching connected rooms for hostile Xenos and useful objects. Clear enough aliens before the station's destruction to earn a bonus, or leave the location overrun. Elevators and wall-button warps connect the rooms, while low enemies make crouching useful. Stronger weapons and health-restoring finds help sustain a run through eight stations. In two-player mode, split screens allow each exterminator to explore independently. Health carries the pressure of the mission: once it runs out, that player's game ends, and the NES version offers no continue.
