How to Play Ys II: Ancient Ys Vanished The Final Chapter
Quick start
Press START during the opening to begin your adventure. You can reduce damage by moving with the D-pad and hitting normal enemies a little to the side instead of directly in front of them. Open the window with SELECT, select equipment, items, and magic with A, and return with B. On the normal screen, A is equipped with fire and return magic, and B is a usable item. At the beginning, talk to all the villagers and prepare your weapons and armor while solving their requests. In towns, villages, and ruins, you can stop and recover HP when it's safe. Save each section from "Game" to one of the two frames.
Controls
D-pad: Move Adol up, down, left, and right on the normal screen. SELECT: Display the selection window. In the window, use up and down to move items, press A to confirm, and press B to cancel. Normal screen A: Use equipped fire or return magic, and also use to continue/end the conversation. Normal screen B: Use the equipped usage item. START: Start from opening, pause during play. Combat is done by touching the enemy rather than using the attack button, and is basically a ramming attack that is slightly off-axis. To save/load, select SELECT → "Game" → select the recording frame with A. Use controller I only.

"Ys II" is an action RPG in which Adol, right after defeating Darc-Fact, is led to the sky and pursues the truth and the source of evil in the ancient kingdom of Ys. In the field, you engage in unique combat in which you ram the enemy slightly off-axis, and improve your abilities with experience points and equipment. In this work, six magics have been added: fire, light, return, time stop, telepathy, and shield, and they are used not only for attacks, but also for discovering hidden objects, moving, stopping time, and transforming into the sacred beast Lou. Help villagers, talk to them, and use keys and items to open paths as you advance through ruins, mines, ice walls, lava fields, and the Salmon Temple. In the Famicom version, you can save and load data to two recording frames during the game, and your HP will be recovered when you stop in a safe place such as a town or village.
