When you first start up, you select a language, set your name and avatar in "NEW GAME," and choose one of six types of structure decks. Avatar can be changed later. For beginners, Sorcerer's Judgment is an easy candidate, but any starting deck can be used to start. The initial DP is 3000, and 11 types of packs are lined up from the beginning, so check the deck contents first before purchasing. The first goal is to challenge level 1 Goombas in free duels, win repeatedly, and unlock higher levels. The "Duel Puzzle", which can be solved with one move, is also an early game challenge where you can get DP on the first clear.

Cross button: Menu movement, card/command selection. A: Determined. Press and hold during a duel to force chain confirmation. B: Cancel/Go back. If you hold it down during a duel, the activation confirmation will be skipped. In deck editing, press L/R to switch between trunk, main, side, and fusion decks, press SELECT to change card display, and press START to display details. During a duel, press L to move to the top of your hand, press R to draw or display card text during the draw phase, and START to display card details.
