How to Play Zen: Intergalactic Ninja
Quick start
At the title, choose Start with Up/Down and press START. Pick an opening stage with Left/Right and read the Gordons' instructions. A jumps and B attacks. Learn side-view wall rebounds by pressing toward a wall and A on contact. On the oil rig, obtain the extinguisher and use Up+B to fight fires. Use SELECT for a stored Life Item while safely grounded, not during a jump, fall, or hang.
Controls
A: jump. B: attack. SELECT: use a stored Life Item, except while jumping, falling, or hanging. START pauses; at the title Up/Down and START chooses Start/Option. Side view: Down crouches; Down+A drops through a floor. Up catches a branch/pipe, then A moves while hanging and B kicks. On wall contact, press toward it+A to rebound. Jab: direction toward the enemy+B; after contact, keep B held and reverse direction for a powerful blow. Diagonal view: hold B after attacking to crouch. In the air, B attacks; repeated B extends jumping distance. After jab contact, hold B and rotate the D-pad to swing an enemy, then release B to throw. Oil-rig extinguisher: Up+B when equipped.
Zen: Intergalactic Ninja — About this game
Zen: Intergalactic Ninja turns an environmental rescue mission into varied NES action. Pick among four opening disasters: revive flowers in an acid-rain forest, rescue workers from a burning oil rig, escape a toxic factory, or navigate a runaway railway car. Stages switch between side and diagonal views, so crouching and combat techniques differ with the perspective. Zen's Photon-Stick supports jabs, reversals, and enemy throws, while wall rebounds help reach higher places. Recycling bonus rounds award useful items before later boss challenges. Stored Life Items restore health only when used in an allowed position; keep an eye on the life gauge while completing each stage's task.
