How to Play Zippy Race
Quick start
Select one or two people with SELECT and start with START. Press and hold A to accelerate, and use the left and right arrow keys to move into gaps in the line of cars. It's easier to pass if you get close to the back of the car and then move to the side, and it's less likely that your path will be blocked if you line up directly next to the car. Press B to slow down early in front of obstacles or dense areas. If you enter a puddle on the off-road, you will be unable to operate it, so avoid it in front of you. Collect gasoline cans while watching the fuel gauge, and arrive at the checkpoint as early as possible to increase your supply and score.
Controls
D-pad left/right: Move the motorcycle left and right. A button: Accelerate, and if held down, the vehicle will reach its maximum speed. B button: Brake. SELECT: Select 1 PLAYER/2 PLAYERS by title. START: Start the selected game, pause and resume during play. Left and right controls will temporarily not work while on a puddle. In the two-player version, players do not run at the same time, but instead take turns.
Zippy Race — About this game
"Zippy Race" is a vertically scrolling racing game where you cross the American continent on a motorcycle. Starting from 90th place in Los Angeles, it will pass through checkpoints in Las Vegas, Houston, St. Louis and Chicago before heading to its final destination in New York. Overtake cars on paved roads, avoid rocks, trees, rivers and other obstacles on off-road roads, and dodge oncoming cars on the highways at the end of each course. It's a simple operation of accelerating by holding down A, and adjusting the speed with B's brake, but it's also important to choose your path as you can't do this temporarily in puddles. Stay fueled by refilling along the way with gas cans and checkpoint rankings. Each time you finish a race, the displacement and top speed increase, allowing you to challenge yourself to go faster laps. For two players, play alternately.
