How to Play Ultimate Air Combat

Quick start

Choose START, pick one of the four missions, accept the aircraft already highlighted, and choose AUTO ARM for the recommended loadout. In the opening dogfight, steer with the D-pad and use the A-button cannon to conserve missiles. Once the game switches to ground attack, cycle to the mission weapon with Select and wait for the white targeting reticle to overlap the assigned objective before pressing B. Do not spend limited bombs on unrelated defenses. Collect B, F, M, and R items when safe to replenish bombs, fuel, missiles, or repairs.

Controls

The D-pad steers the aircraft and navigates menus. Select cycles the active weapon, B fires it, and A fires the Vulcan cannon. Press A+B together to launch chaff against incoming missiles. Start confirms menu choices and pauses or resumes gameplay. In the loadout menu, Left/Right scrolls through equipment; AUTO ARM equips weapons chosen for the current mission, and FINISHED proceeds to launch.

Ultimate Air Combat — About this game

Ultimate Air Combat puts the player in command of an F/A-18, AV-8 Harrier, or F-14 across a campaign of escalating operations. Every sortie opens with a cockpit-view dogfight, then shifts automatically into a top-down strike against the targets shown in the briefing—bases, ships, bridges, artillery, and more. Mission selection arrives in groups of four, and completing each group unlocks aircraft improvements and another set. The loadout screen offers guided missiles, bombs, lasers, extra fuel, and other equipment, while a password option restores campaign progress.
