How to Play Air Fortress
Quick start
During the opening shooter segment, hold either A or B to fire and prioritize E and B pickups; they become your health/energy and Crash Beam stock inside. Once on foot, tap the D-Pad rather than holding it so low-gravity momentum stays manageable. Use A's regular beam for routine threats, stop on a safe floor to recover energy, and reserve B's limited Crash Beams for durable targets and the reactor. Note intersections as you explore. After the core explodes, turn back immediately and follow the memorized route to the escape hatch instead of searching for more items.
Controls
Air Base: D-Pad moves the Light Blaster; A or B fires unlimited beams; Start pauses. Inside the fortress: D-Pad moves Hal and controls low-gravity flight; A fires Beam Bullets and consumes energy; B fires limited Crash Beam Bullets; Start pauses. To enter a password from power-on, press Start, Select, then Start and enter the letters with the D-Pad.
Air Fortress — About this game
Air Fortress divides each mission into two connected halves. First, Hal rides a Light Blaster through a horizontal shooting zone, gathering Energy and Crash Beam items that determine his supplies inside the fortress. He then dismounts and explores a dangerous low-gravity labyrinth on foot, spending energy to fly and fire while seeking the central reactor. Resting on solid ground restores some energy, but Crash Beam ammunition stays limited. Destroying the reactor does not finish the stage: the fortress begins to collapse, and Hal must retrace the maze to a hidden escape hatch before time runs out.
