How to Play Air Fortress

Quick start

Keep a steady stream of fire on the air base, but steer for E and B capsules before chasing bonus targets. Once inside, use small directional taps and land often; reckless floating drains the same energy needed to survive damage and fire Beam Bullets. Spend A shots on common enemies and reserve B's finite Crash Beams for anything blocking progress or guarding the reactor. Take note of every lift and branch. The instant the core is destroyed, reverse your route and make for the exit without detours, as the escape phase punishes uncertain navigation.

Controls

Air Base: D-Pad moves the craft, A or B fires unlimited beams, Start pauses. Inside: D-Pad handles walking and low-gravity flight, A fires the regular energy-consuming beam, B launches a limited Crash Beam, and Start pauses. To continue via password after startup, press Start, Select and Start, enter the code with the D-Pad, then confirm with Start.

Air Fortress — About this game

HAL Laboratory's Air Fortress links two styles into one continuous resource challenge. Hal first rides the Light Blaster across a scrolling air base, collecting capsules that set his energy and Crash Beam ammunition for the interior. The second section slows into a labyrinth where gravity shifts, flight and ordinary shots consume energy, and brief rests on firm ground restore it. Strong Crash Beams must be rationed for serious threats. Reaching and destroying the reactor is only the midpoint of the climax, because Hal still has to navigate back to the escape hatch as the living fortress fails around him.
