How to Play Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara (Brazil 960223)
Quick start
- Choose a class and learn its ordinary attack.
- Open Select to prepare an item from the inventory ring.
- Use the selected item only when its effect is useful.
- For a spellcaster, check remaining uses before the next encounter.
Controls
Attack and Jump are separate actions. Select opens the inventory ring, and Use activates the prepared item. Spellcasters have additional spell rings, switched with Jump while selecting.

Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara (Brazil 960223) expands its branching adventure with a Thief and Magic-User alongside the earlier four classes. Inventory matters during the brawls: a selection ring prepares an item for a separate Use action, while spellcasters have additional rings for magic. Spells have limited prepared uses rather than a freely regenerating magic pool, and scroll pickups can restore those opportunities. Character abilities also change how a trap or undead encounter is handled. Learn the chosen class’s ordinary attack and inventory cycle before spending a scarce spell in the next crowded fight.
