Controls
Move across platforms, Jump between footholds and climb vines or chains. Holding two vines improves climbing speed; one gives faster descent. Fruit drops when reached and can hit enemies below.

Donkey Kong Jr. (Japan) changes the rescue route through vines and chains. Junior climbs faster while holding two handholds but descends faster on one, making a switch useful when a Snapjaw approaches from above. Fruit knocked from the vines falls through enemies below, opening another way to clear a dangerous path. The first stages lead toward a key by the cage, while the final board requires pushing six keys into their locks. Plan the next handhold before climbing into a pursuer, and leave enough time on the bonus counter to finish the rescue.
