How to Play Hook (US)
Quick start
- Choose a hero and compare the reach of their opening attacks.
- Use the jump action to learn an airborne approach.
- Move close enough to an isolated enemy to practise a grab and throw.
- Save the health-costing desperation attack for a situation that needs an escape.
Controls
Use the attack action for strikes and the jump action to leave the ground. Attack near a pickup to collect it. Move forward into a nearby enemy to grab; attack or a direction plus attack follows up according to the character. Attack+jump performs the character's desperation move and costs health.
Hook (US) — About this game
Hook (US) takes Peter Pan's struggle against Captain Hook into a succession of close-range arcade brawls. The selected hero can attack, jump and grab nearby enemies, with individual combinations extending ordinary blows into throws or finishing attacks. Objects can be picked up during the fighting, and a desperation technique offers an escape at a cost to health. Learn how the chosen character handles a nearby opponent before trying longer sequences, and preserve enough room to avoid being trapped in the middle of a group.
