How to Play The King of Fighters 2002 (NGM-2650 ~ NGH-2650)

Quick start

Choose a three-character team and set its fighting order.
Learn a short normal-to-special attack route.
Build a power level before entering MAX mode.
Practise the intended cancellation sequence before spending further stock.

Controls

A is weak punch, B weak kick, C strong punch and D strong kick. A+B rolls and C+D performs a body blow. B+C activates MAX for one power level; activating during a supported attack costs two. Supers and hidden supers have separate MAX, stock and health requirements.

The King of Fighters 2002 (NGM-2650 ~ NGH-2650) returns to three-person teams without the Striker assignments of the preceding games. Its non-story tournament brings characters together for a dream match, with the power gauge supporting normal desperation attacks and the temporary MAX state. MAX opens additional cancellation possibilities, making a prepared sequence more useful than an activation without a plan. Learn a reliable normal-to-special route first, then decide whether the available stock is better spent entering MAX, making a defensive response or preserving power for another team member.
