Quick start

Aim the launcher at a pair matching the next bubble.
Fire to make a group of at least three.
Remove connecting bubbles to drop larger groups or clear a support.
Watch rainbow bubbles for another match before the field reaches the bottom.

Controls

Left / Right: aim the launcher. Fire action: launch the next bubble. Match at least three of one colour; a rainbow bubble changes colour when neighbouring bubbles burst.

Puzzle Bobble 3 (Ver 2.1J 1996/09/27) — About this game

Puzzle Bobble 3 (Ver 2.1J 1996/09/27) attaches its bubble groups to supports instead of a solid ceiling. Matching three or more bubbles of one colour clears them, and removing the bubbles connected to a support makes that support disappear. Rainbow bubbles adopt the colour of nearby bursting bubbles, opening opportunities for a chain reaction. Puzzle routes mix ordinary arrangements with longer scrolling challenges, while versus play sends extra bubbles toward the opponent. A shot aimed at an important connection can therefore accomplish more than simply clearing the nearest pair.
