How to Play Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo (Europe 960529)
Quick start
- Move and rotate a falling gem pair.
- Build a rectangular block of one colour for a Power Gem.
- Place its matching Crash Gem to break it.
- Keep space in the losing column while sending Counter Gems.
Controls
Move Left/Right to position the pair and Down to speed its descent. The two rotation actions turn it clockwise or counterclockwise. A same-colour Crash Gem breaks connected gems; adjoining Counter Gems also disappear. Counter timers decrease with each new pair placed before they turn into normal coloured gems. A Rainbow Gem clears the colour beneath it, but does nothing useful when placed directly on the floor.

Matching gem colors is only the beginning in Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo. A matching Crash Gem must reach the colored gems before they break and send Counter Gems to the opponent. Building a rectangular block joins its gems into a Power Gem, whose eventual destruction sends a stronger attack than the same gems broken in a loose arrangement. Chaining these breaks can create an even more threatening exchange. Leave a route for the Crash Gem instead of covering a promising block with unrelated colors. The puzzle is a balance between preparing a large attack and keeping enough space to survive until it can be triggered.
