How to Play RoboWarrior

Quick start

Practice dropping a bomb with B and immediately stepping two tiles away; the blast is short but hurts ZED badly. Fire the laser with A while moving right, because most outdoor screens do not allow backtracking. Bomb suspicious blocks to find the chalice first, then uncover the key near the far right and enter the exit at the upper right. Watch the constantly falling energy meter and use a stored energy capsule before it reaches zero.

Controls

D-pad moves ZED and selects powers on the sub-screen. A fires the laser in normal play; after choosing a power, A activates it on the main screen. B places a bomb, and B cancels power selection in the sub-screen. SELECT switches between main and sub-screens. START begins and pauses. In the sub-screen, highlight an item with the D-pad and confirm with A or SELECT.

RoboWarrior — About this game

The European RoboWarrior is the international version of Hudson and Aicom's Bomber King. ZED crosses eight hostile regions of the artificial planet Altile while his energy drains continuously. His laser defeats roaming enemies, but limited bombs are essential for breaking blocks, opening hidden underground routes and uncovering items. Every ordinary round hides a chalice that prevents endless looping and a key that reveals the exit. Twenty-three selectable powers, shops, medals and major Xantho bosses add resource planning to the forward-scrolling action.
