How to Play Bubble Bobble Part 2
Quick start
Choose 1PLAYER or alternating 2PLAYERS with SELECT, then press START. Learn to trap a nearby enemy, approach its bubble safely, and burst it before rushing after distant targets. Keep A held when bouncing on a bubble, and practice holding B to float toward higher ledges. Collect recovery items and pencils, and clear enemies before the pursuing threat makes the room harder to manage.
Controls
Left/right: move. A: jump; hold to bounce on bubbles without bursting them. B: blow a bubble; hold to charge/float, release for the charged attack. Up/down steer during floating. SELECT: title-screen player selection only. START: start or pause/resume.
Bubble Bobble Part 2 — About this game
Japan's Bubble Bobble 2 brings a new set of bubble-clearing rooms to the Famicom. Each round ends when every enemy is defeated, but reaching targets and staying clear of hazards requires more than ordinary jumps: charged bubbles and floating movement create new routes through the platforms. Hearts absorb damage before a stock is lost, and collectible items can improve movement, change bubble attacks, or lead to bonus games. The campaign spans 80 rounds with bosses along the way. Two-player mode alternates turns rather than placing both characters in the room together; limited continues make hearts and pencil items valuable.
