How to Play Conflict
Quick start
Choose one player, 3 Units and Blue Level 1 for the clearest introduction. Move the cursor to a unit, confirm MOVE with A, choose a legal hex and press A again. Capture cities with infantry, keep supply trucks behind the front and end damaged ground or air units on the correct facility. Press START over any unit to study its movement, range and matchup before committing to an attack.
Controls
D-pad moves the hex cursor, selects commands and chooses movement direction. A confirms commands, destinations and targets. B cancels or changes to a YES/NO confirmation window where specified. Press START while the cursor is on a unit to display that unit's function and statistics; press START again to return to the map. Menus use the D-pad and A.
Conflict — About this game
The Japanese Conflict cartridge is Vic Tokai's turn-based NES war game. Infantry, commandos, armor, artillery, aircraft and support vehicles move across hexagonal maps with distinct ranges and terrain costs. A solo player leads Blue against the computer-controlled Red side, choosing three-unit or all-unit turns, one of three Blue difficulty levels and an opening scenario. Cities and airfields repair or replenish suitable units, while Fame earned in combat buys replacements. Victory demands combined arms rather than charging one unit type forward.
