How to Play Conflict
Quick start
Select one player, 3 Units and Blue Level 1. Put the cursor on a unit, choose MOVE with A, select a highlighted hex and confirm. Use infantry to secure cities, screen vulnerable supply trucks and return damaged ground units or aircraft to the right facility. Before attacking, press START over both units to compare range and combat roles. Spend Fame on missing capabilities instead of simply buying more of the strongest tank.
Controls
D-pad moves the cursor, navigates command windows and sets a unit's movement direction. A confirms commands, destinations and attack targets. B cancels or opens the YES/NO choice when the manual calls for confirmation. Press START over a unit to display its function and statistics, then START again to return. Setup menus use D-pad and A.
Conflict — About this game
Conflict is Vic Tokai's US NES turn-based strategy game. Blue and Red deploy infantry, commandos, tanks, artillery, anti-aircraft weapons, aircraft and support vehicles on hexagonal maps. Solo play assigns Blue to the player and Red to the computer, while two people can command opposing sides. The setup offers three-unit or all-unit turns, three Blue difficulty levels and fifteen initial maps. Captured cities and airfields sustain damaged units, and Fame earned through combat purchases reinforcements, rewarding careful combined-arms planning.
