How to Play Star Voyager
Quick start
Press SELECT before launch and study the map legend. Choose a nearby fuel base or enemy sector, align the gyro compass and hold B until warp begins, correcting drift during travel. Tap B to slow when the destination appears, center enemy ships and fire with A. Do not ignore flashing damage: refuel at a base and return to Noah for life support, laser or barrier repairs. Prioritize fleets closest to Noah.
Controls
D-pad steers the RH119 and selects a destination sector on the information screen. A fires laser cannons and toggles the Defense Barrier while viewing the subscreen. Hold B to accelerate; keep holding until the warp gauge fills to enter hyperspace. Tap B to cut engines and decelerate. SELECT switches between cockpit and information screens. START begins, pauses and resumes.
Star Voyager — About this game
Star Voyager is the US NES localization of Cosmo Genesis, a first-person space combat and navigation game. A 10-by-10 galactic map is randomized for each mission, placing enemy fleets, fuel bases, planets, hazards and the vulnerable CosmoStation Noah in different sectors. The RH119 must steer, accelerate and warp between targets, then align enemy craft with its laser sight. Stations provide fuel and radar repair, Noah restores defense, weapons and life support, and friendly planets may award permanent upgrades. Destroying all nine invading fleets wins the campaign.
