How to Play Uncharted Waters
Quick start
In Lisbon, buy sugar at the marketplace, reduce the tiny starter ship to a practical crew, and load enough food and water before sailing. Follow the coast north, then east to Bordeaux; sell Lisbon goods there and bring a local specialty back to build money and sailing experience on a short, repeatable route. Check hull damage and supplies before every departure, stay near known coastlines early on, and open the SELECT menu to save frequently.
Controls
In port, use the D-pad to walk. Inside buildings, use the D-pad to highlight choices, A to confirm and B to cancel. At sea, the D-pad sets a compass bearing; A sets sail or opens sea commands, and B also opens the sea command menu. SELECT opens the save/options menu. For quantities, Left/Right chooses a digit, Up/Down changes it, and A enters the value. In naval battle, use the D-pad to point to a destination or command and A to confirm.
Uncharted Waters — About this game
Uncharted Waters is a seafaring simulation RPG set in 1502, ten years after Columbus's first voyage. As a young Portuguese captain in Lisbon, you manage a small fleet, buy and sell regional goods, recruit crew, provision ships and chart ports across the world. Progress can come through profitable commerce, royal assignments, exploration or battles with pirates and hostile fleets. Wind, food, water, crew numbers and hull condition all matter once you leave harbor, and naval combat shifts to a tactical map where sailing direction and weapon range shape each move. Rising fame advances the story of your fallen family and a missing princess while better ships open longer and more dangerous routes.
