How to Play Trolls in Crazyland, The

Quick start

Use the flat opening area to compare a tapped A jump with a held A jump, then test B forward and Up+B against higher targets. Keep enough distance for the ball to connect before enemies touch you. Stronger attacks after damage are useful, but the red state means the next hit is fatal, so slow down around narrow platforms. During roller-coaster stages, read the broken track ahead, press A at the jump signs, and use B turbo only when the next landing is visible.

Controls

D-pad Left/Right: move Pompon. D-pad Up: climb where permitted and, with B, kick a ball diagonally upward. A: jump; hold for a higher jump. B: kick a ball forward during normal stages; use turbo during roller-coaster stages. START: pause or resume. SELECT: unused during normal play.

Trolls in Crazyland, The — About this game

Doki! Doki! Yūenchi: Crazy Land Daisakusen is a Japanese Famicom side-scrolling action game in which Pompon enters a bizarre amusement park to rescue the kidnapped Lil. Its eleven stages move beyond carnival scenery into jungles, waterways, mechanical zones, and roller-coaster sequences. Pompon attacks by kicking balls forward or diagonally upward and can vary jump height by holding the button. Damage changes his color and progressively strengthens the attack pattern, but a fourth hit costs a life. The European adaptation, The Trolls in Crazyland, retains the same underlying stages and mechanics while replacing the lead character and story presentation.
