How to Play Donkey Kong Country
Quick start
Choose the main adventure and a new file, then enter the first jungle course. Practise A jumps and B attacks on the opening ground. Break a DK barrel to recover your partner, use SELECT to switch when both are available, and head toward the exit before searching every bonus route.
Controls
D-pad: move, climb vines and crouch. A: jump or swim. B: roll/cartwheel; hold while moving to run, or hold a barrel and release to throw it. SELECT: switch Kongs when both are present. START: pause.
Donkey Kong Country — About this game
Donkey Kong Country on Game Boy Color rebuilds the banana-recovery adventure around Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. Jump through jungles, ride mine carts and explore underwater routes while keeping both Kongs available and searching for bonus areas.
The stolen banana hoard gives the pair a reason to cross the island and face the Kremlings. DK barrels restore a missing partner, so keeping both Kongs available gives you another chance after a hit. This handheld version also includes extra activities such as Funky's Fishing; its presentation and controls belong to the GBC release.
