How to Play Double Dribble
Quick start
Set TIME, TEAM and LEVEL, then select END. At the tip, press B. On offence, face the intended receiver and press A to pass; hold B to jump and release near the top to shoot. Drive into open space for a possible dunk sequence. On defence, use B to switch to the player nearest the ball, then get in front of the carrier and press A to steal or block during a shot.
Controls
D-pad moves the flashing player in eight directions. Offence: A passes to the highlighted receiver or inbounds; hold B to jump and release B to shoot, including free throws. Defence: A attempts a steal or jumps to block during a shot; B switches control to the defender closest to the ball. START starts or pauses; SELECT is unused during play.
Double Dribble — About this game
The European NES release of Double Dribble adapts Konami's arcade basketball to a full-court overhead match. Players select period length, team colours and one of three difficulty settings before the automatic opening tip. On offence, directional passing and release-timed jump shots create scoring chances, while uncontested drives can trigger close-up dunk scenes. Defence relies on switching to the teammate nearest the ball, positioning for steals and jumping to block shots. Travelling, five-second, ten-second and 24-second violations keep each four-period game moving.
