How to Play Double Dribble
Quick start
Choose TIME, TEAM and LEVEL, select END, and press B at the opening tip. On offence, point toward a receiver and press A; hold B to jump, then release at the peak to shoot. Move toward an open basket for a dunk chance. On defence, press B to take the teammate nearest the ball and use A in front of the carrier to steal, or press it as the opponent shoots to attempt a block.
Controls
D-pad moves the flashing player in eight directions. Offence: A passes to the indicated receiver and inbounds; hold B to jump and release to shoot, including free throws. Defence: A steals or jumps to block an active shot; B switches to the defender closest to the ball. START begins or pauses the game. SELECT has no in-game function.
Double Dribble — About this game
Double Dribble on the US NES brings Konami's arcade game home with one- or two-player full-court basketball. Match setup offers period length, team colour and three difficulty levels. On offence, the flashing player can target receivers, pass and hold then release the shot button to control jump-shot timing; an uncontested drive may cut to one of the game's close-up dunks. Defence is about switching to the closest teammate, getting between the carrier and basket, stealing or jumping during a shot. Four periods include travelling and standard timed violations.
