How to Play Castle of Dragon
Quick start
At the opening, press B once from a safe position to learn the sword's short reach, then test A before the first difficult platform. Stop just outside enemy contact range and strike with the tip instead of walking through targets. Switch weapons with START only when the area is clear; use knives for dangerous enemies and save the health-draining mace for fast boss damage. Fill the blue experience bar to extend maximum health, and after a game over continue without powering off so retained growth and equipment can make the next attempt easier.
Controls
D-pad Left/Right: move. D-pad Down: crouch and guard against high attacks or flying creatures. A: jump. B: attack with the equipped weapon. START: cycle through collected weapons. SELECT: pause or resume. Standing still can block some middle-height attacks, while crouching changes the guarded height; positioning remains more important than rapid attacks.
Castle of Dragon — About this game
Dragon Unit is the Japanese Famicom version of the side-scrolling action game released in North America as Castle of Dragon. Duke crosses eight stages to rescue Princess Leila and confront the revived dragon, battling tough enemies and frequent bosses along the way. His basic sword is reliable at close range, knives provide safer ranged damage, and the mace hits hard but consumes health when swung; temporary elemental swords add other options. Defeating enemies fills an experience meter that permanently extends maximum health for the current powered session. Later stages can be approached in a chosen order, but four key relics must be collected before the true final battle.
